New Mornington Fishermans Jetty Now Open to the Public

After years of anticipation, the new Mornington Fishermans Jetty has officially opened for locals and visitors. The upgraded jetty features steel piles with timber decking, solar lighting, and improved safety for both vessels and pedestrians, delivering a durable and welcoming public waterfront asset.

AW Maritime were engaged by Parks Victoria as the Lead Consultant, and we led a highly skilled project team including North Projects, Tract Consultants, Harvey Maritime, ABC Engineers and Reneo Engineering. Together, the team provided end-to-end services across planning, design and construction delivery. Key services delivered by the team included:

• Maritime structural design of the jetty and berthing infrastructure
• Landscape architectural, accessibility and lighting design for enhanced public amenity
• Statutory planning services, including planning permit, Marine and Coastal Act consent, Heritage Victoria consent and local council site approvals
• Whole-of-life design input, considering maintenance, durability and exposure conditions
• Construction phase support, responding to technical queries and site conditions raised by the contractor Simpson Construction Co. while collaborating with Ontoit and Currie & Brown.

Project Manager Catherine Bell said “With strong coordination from AW Maritime and a shared focus across the entire team, it was rewarding to see the project come to life — from concept design to construction, from paper to reality. Well done to all involved. It was a pleasure to lead such a focused, budget-driven team and achieve a great outcome for Parks Victoria.”
