AW Maritime has extensive consulting experience with major capital dredging engineering works for new port developments and smaller scale maintenance dredging and beach renourishment projects.
Our services during design include the the scoping and management of site investigations and navigation studies, including direct experience managing real time ship simulations and under keel clearance studies to finalise capital dredging requirements. AW Maritime can also provide budget and production estimates for a range of dredging operations, including the ability to draw on specialist production estimating expertise for the estimation of complex projects.
We can also assist clients with the management of environmental investigations and preparation of environmental approvals documentation, and the development of tender documentation and tender evaluations.
During contract execution we offer project management and supervision services and contract management support.
Detailed design, community consultation, tender, and site supervision
Detailed design, community consultation, tender, and site supervision for the construction of two 80m long rock groynes and the dredging of 25,000m3 of sand for beach renourishment. Services included identifying alternative sand source offering significant cost savings.
Determining extent of dredging required, interpreting geotechnical information and calculating dredging volumes
AW Maritime has recently been engaged by Parks Victoria to complete a study of dredging requirements for Hobsons Bay, Victoria. The project was initiated in response to ongoing siltation issues that affect a number of marine facilities.
The proposed Simandou Iron Ore Development in Guinea included the requirement to dredge approximately 16.0 million cubic meters of material for the construction of early off loading facilities. Our staff assisted the project by providing specialist dredging advice including a detailed assessment of proposed plant and dredging production estimates.

Detailed dredging study
AW Maritime was engaged by the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria to complete the design of a 240 berth marina expansion. The scope included a detailed dredging study assessing dredging requirements, environmental issues, dredging and disposal methodologies, and cost estimates.
Area Lead Dredging responsible for navigation simulations, berth availability analysis including time domain mooring assessment, plume modelling studies, and dredging production and cost estimates. Role extended to assist with the preparation of tender documents and tender evaluation of over AUD1 Billion of breakwater and dredging works.
