Harbour protection and tranquility is vital to the successful operation of port and maritime infrastructure. AW Maritime has the skills and expertise required to assess protection requirements, evaluate the suitability of breakwater, wave screen, and attenuator options, and has successfully completed the detailed design of a number of breakwaters and wavescreens for clients throughout Australia and internationally.

    As part of AW Maritime’s role completing the detailed design of the Portarlington harbour development, AW Maritime completed the design of a precast concrete wavescreen integrated with the construction of a new access jetty.

    Detailed design of $10 million marina development including 216m straddle carrier jetty, 1400m2 hardstand and 235m of precast concrete wave screen wall.

    AW Maritime completed the detailed design of a 180m long precast concrete wavescreen for a ferry terminal located in Tawau, Malaysia.

    AW Maritime completed the detailed design and construction phase support for extensive repairs to the Sandringham breakwater.

    AW Maritime completed the detailed design of the breakwaters, and assisted Parks Victoria during construction by providing technical support and quality assurance services.

  • Design of a 240 berth marina expansion

    The scope of services included a detailed site assessment incorporating extensive numerical modelling, concept design of wavescreen structures and the engagement of UNSW for physical model testing, detailed design of both FRP and precast concrete wavescreens, marina planning and layouts, and the preparation of marina D&C tender documentation.

  • Detailed design of extension to existing inner breakwater

    The layout of the CYCSA small craft harbour resulted in unacceptable wave penetration to berth located near the harbour entrance. AW Maritime completed the detailed design of an extension to the existing inner breakwater and assisted the club during construction, which was completed entirely by floating plant.
