Port Fairy Dredging Study, VIC

Port Fairy Dredging Study, VIC

Dredging study for maintenance of port.

The dredging of the port of Port Fairy is undertaken by Moyne Shire Council in its role as port manager. The dredging is required to maintain safe navigation to the port for a range of vessels including charter boats and commercial fishing vessels that occupy permanent berths in the port, and for recreational vessels.

AW Maritime completed a study of the dredging requirements at Port Fairy in Victoria. This included a review of background information, understanding of dredging materials (sand and silt overlying a shallow rocky seabed), meeting with representatives from Moyne Shire Council and discussions with various operators about equipment availability and dredging options.
