AW Maritime was engaged by Ports Victoria to provide consulting services for the development of a 10-year maintenance dredging strategy for the Geelong Shipping Channels in Geelong, Victoria.
The Port of Geelong shipping channels is critical to ensuring safe and efficient access for commercial vessels navigating the Port of Geelong. AWM develop a comprehensive 10-year dredging and sweeping maintenance strategy to optimise dredging activities and maintain declared depths sustainably. AWM undertook modelling to determine the volume of maintenance dredging required, as well as an evaluation of siltation across the channel, design of sediment management areas and then costed multiple dredging options over a 10-year timeframe.
