Docklands North Wharf Piles Condition Assessment, VIC

Docklands North Wharf Piles Condition Assessment, VIC

Condition Assessment of the Piles and Concrete Elements to Provide a Revised Load Rating

The North Wharf, located on the Yarra River beneath N Wharf Road in Melbourne, was originally constructed in the mid-1800s. Over the years, it has undergone numerous repairs and some reconstruction. AW Maritime (AWM) was engaged to conduct a condition inspection and provide a revised load rating for the wharf based on a structural assessment and model.

The inspection involved evaluating the wharf’s timber piles, both above and below water, as well as the major concrete components that form the deck of the structure. AWM carried out the inspection in accordance with the Wharf Structures Condition Assessment Manual.

Following the assessment and revision of the wharf’s load rating, recommendations for repairs and future inspections were established.

Additionally, AWM previously conducted a condition assessment for North Wharf.
