Eastern Beach Promenade Superstructure Assessment
AW Maritime were engaged by the City of Greater Geelong to provide engineering services for the Eastern Beach Promenade Superstructure Assessment
The Eastern Beach Promenade is a heritage-listed timber boardwalk situated on Geelong's waterfront, originally constructed in the 1930s to provide a sheltered swimming enclosure in Corio Bay. AWMs inspection involved assigning a condition rating to each element of the superstructure with data collected documenting the asset condition and relative location of the defects.
The assessment undertaken by AWM evaluated the condition of the promenade's timber component, identified structural deficiencies, and prioritised necessary remediation works. The investigation provided the City of Greater Geelong with essential insights into it's structural integrity, inform long-term maintenance planning, and support the City of Greater Geelong's commitment to preserving this iconic waterfront destination.
